Yeah, I hated this sequence, I never really understood when was the right moment to smash the button!

I don't say QTEs are good but sometimes, in some games... they're not too bad ^^

You're supposed to do it the way they teach you in the tutorial, hit the button as soon the weapon turns red. If that doesn't seem to work out for you it might be because you have some input lag going on (can be caused by VSync for example), slow LCD monitor etc. The window for successfully disarming Ropeburn is very small.

Wow, amazing! Glad you say it's all really fluid, just like it seemed in the trailer. In the original game you sometimes lost literally all your speed after mantling a high fence...

Can't help wondering what happens when you fall off the rooftops in Catalyst, do you know if there's for example that intense sound like in the original game? And how about the drones, do they follow you or something or are they only available in certain parts of the world?

Really hope at least one of us here will get beta access! ;-)

I've been looking at the I am Faith trailer on repeat, and when it came to the HUD part - the one where she starts following Icarus, something caught my eye. Had to pause it, and in the topmost bar, there apparently is a news broadcast thing. You know, the banner that provides breaking news?

Apparently, talks about something have failed, and the diplomats of Cascadia are at a stalemate. Wonder what's that all about?

I can't quite remember whether or not the same sound of falling was in there, but I think I should've noticed it if it was though. I do remember falling down a few times anyway.

About the drones I cannot tell you, as I couldn't see any of them in the demo.

Ah yeah, I picked that up aswell about the news on the top. The HUD you see is actually from the beatLink (which is speculated to be a hacked version of a gridLink), an augmented reality contact lens that Faith gets from Icarus when they meet up (which happens just as she gets out of juvenile, right at the beginning of the game). Faith says something about the HUD, like: "Is this what all the ordinary people see?" Icarus responds something along the lines of: "Oops, I forgot to turn that off" and proceeds to turn it off for her. From then on, the beatLink is used to provide Runner Vision, a minimalistic HUD consisting of an arrow, pointing you to where you need to go (waypoints you've put on the map for example) and the collectible gridLeaks which are those yellow flying orbs you see in the trailers sometimes (they're only rendered in the beatLink and do not exist in the "real world"). This information is a mix between what I learned playing the demo and speculations from me and other fans, so It might not be 100% correct.

I've also analysed the rest of the beatLink text you see on the screen, and found some easter eggs there. I made a post about it over at the Mirror's Edge subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/mirrorsedge/comments/44a43d/analyzing_beatlink_output_and_its_hidden_easter/

Hey guys, there's some info about "Kuma" (the little robot from the mini-figures pack) on this pic (it's from the figure's packaging): http://gameidealist.com/wp-content/uploads/Mirrors-Edge-Catalyst-Mini-Figures-3-Pack-5.jpg
