The new Mirror’s Edge has been announced at E3 2013 and renamed Mirror’s Edge Catalyst just before E3 2015 where it was showcased through a trailer, a gameplay video and several pictures.
This new game is a reboot of the franchise and takes place in the City of Glass, where you play as a young Faith fighting her way on rooftops and in deep tunnels to bring down Gabriel Kruger, the most powerful man of the city who controls everything and everyone using lethal force when necessary.
Catalyst is an open-world game using the FrostBite 3 engine and will feature some multiplayer components. Faith can now improve her skills and she owns some gadgets (we still don’t know what kind of gadgets) to help her in her quest. The game does not work in levels like the first one, which gives a better sensation of freedom to the player and between missions, Faith can take part in optional missions like races, environmental puzzles and “Billboard Hack” (finding your way up to the billboard so that you can hack it and display your runner tag instead of the corporate propaganda).

Mirror’s Edge is a first person shooter/platform video game published by Electronic Arts and developped by Digital Illusions CE (DICE). The main character is a young woman named Faith and her job is to secretly carry information in a city under the control of a very repressive government. She is a “runner”.
Mirror’s Edge is quite a unique game because it is one of the rare FPS in which the player has to run and jump rather than kill everyone. As a matter of fact, finishing the game without killing anyone will grant you an achievement/trophy.
On top of its unique gameplay, Mirror’s Edge features a very singular art direction: the imaginary city where the story takes place is mainly composed of white walls and glass skyscrapers, and only a few vivid colours are present to help the player find points of interest.
